BOB BEATY
 

Bob Beaty is owner and creator of Beaty American. Bob began his salvaging career at the age of 18, saving granite floor tile from Snellenbergs Department Store in Philadelphia in 1966. After a hiatus of military service as a Marine in Vietnam, and rowing at St. Joseph’s college, Bob moved to Berkeley, California. He was a founding member of Omega Salvage, and co-founder of both Urban Ore and American Soil. Since 1973, he’s been recycling, salvaging and repurposing architectural parts to preserve and reimagine the past. Currently located in Philadelphia, PA, Bob is well known for his involvement within the local salvaging community, starting various businesses and organizations.
