Table built from beams from the Academy of Music

The Academy of Music in Philadelphia, where so many great performances brightened people’s lives, had its roof replaced in 2002. The wood beams holding it up were constructed in 1857, made of white pine and white oak and 60 feet long! Furniture maker Kalle Fauset has since been turning those beams into all sorts of custom furniture. He was featured for some of his other work in the October 2021 issue of Architectural Digest. The corner pieces are from the ends of the original trusses. The middle squares are cross cuts from those same beams, polished to show their beautiful rings.

Another found gem, this Duncan Phyfe couch! Phyfe was a fine furniture maker in the early 1800s. the Museum of Modern Art has even had his pieces on display! the rose embroidery is in excellent shape and the woodworking is masterful. DM for pricing.
